Don’t Overpay For Your Rx Drugs ~ How To Find the Lowest Price

2 Flares 2 Flares ×

I spend a lot of time doing price comparisons on the things I purchase for my family, but never realized that I should be comparing prices on prescription drugs. I assumed all pharmacies charged the same price for the same drugs – but that is simply not true. Pharmacies in the same area, selling the same drug can charge different amounts — and the price difference can range from just a few dollars to $10, $20, $30 dollars or more per prescription.  Don’t assume you are getting the best price on you prescription drugs, it is easy to find the lowest price in your area when you use the FREE online tool at LowestMed.com.

For example, I searched the Lowest Med database for a medication I was prescribed earlier this year.  The grocery store pharmacy I used to fill that prescription charged me $38.55, but according to Lowest Med, I could have gone to another pharmacy across the street and paid $26.48 for the exact same prescription.   If I had used the free Lowest Med Discount Card when I filled this prescription, I could have saved $12 on that one medication!

I like that the Lowest Med search tool also lists “Low Cost Alternatives” whenever there is a generic equivalent of the drug you are researching.  Using generic forms of a drug can often equal even bigger money saving on prescription drugs.

The free Lowest Med Discount card can be used at more than 58,000 pharmacies and can save you anywhere from 10%-85% on your prescription drug costs.

Smart Phone users can use the new Lowest Med mobile app to find the lowest prices on prescription drugs before they even leave the doctor’s office.  Simply type in the drug name and your zip code and you’ll get a text comparing local pharmacies and the lowest prices.

If you or anyone you know would like to learn more about how to save money on prescription drugs, check out Lowest Med. Lowest Med makes it so easy to find the best prices at your local pharmacy.  Print out your free Lowest Med Discount Card and start saving today!

  1. I think the idea behind the FREE online tool at LowestMed.com. is a true benefit. I don’t like paying more than I have to for anything, especially my prescriptions. They are expensive enough.
