Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe (Vegan, Dairy-Free and Delicious!)

April 20, 2015 by Nicole

This blueberry-vanilla banana smoothie is packed with protein and perfect for breakfast, snack time, and pre- or post- workouts. It’s so easy to make with Silk Very Vanilla Soymilk.

The Very Vanilla Silk is my very favorite variety. I love vanilla, and the fresh vaniila taste of Silk is creamy and delicious. My kids really enjoy this kind, too. My 7-year-old says it tastes like ice cream! I sometimes give them a small glass of Silk Very Vanilla Soymilk at bedtime. They almost always ask for a pre-bedtime snack, and a glass of Silk soymilk satisfies them so they can go to sleep.

I like to keep frozen fruits like blueberries and bananas in my freezer. Instead of tossing ripe bananas, I peel them and freeze them for my smoothies. All you need to create this delicious Silk smoothie is a cup of frozen blueberries, one frozen banana and a cup of Very Vanilla Silk Soymilk. It’s a vegan, delicious, dairy-free treat that is naturally cholesterol-free and low in saturated fat.

Sometimes a banana’s flavor can overtake a smoothie – but I used an entire banana in this one and thought the flavors balanced out very well,

How to make a Blueberry-Vanilla Banana Smoothie

1. Put one cup of frozen blueberries, one frozen banana (cut into pieces) and one cup Very Vanilla Silk Soymilk in a blender.
2. Pulse until smooth.

A glass of Very Vanilla Silk Soymilk is a treat that helps me keep my hunger at bay until mealtime. I have also substituted drinking Silk for soda. I feel a lot better when I crave a glass of Silk soymilk instead of a soda. One glass of Silk contains 8 grams of heart-healthy protein. Silk is something I can feel good about drinking myself and sharing with my family.
