Easy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe Without Eggs + M&Ms

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream M&Ms

My Cuisinart ice cream maker just got pulled out of storage for the summer aka Ice Cream Making Season at our house! Homemade ice cream is not hard to make – just mix up a few simple ingredients and let your ice cream maker do the rest. I use a no egg recipe for vanilla ice cream and then mix in M&Ms once it’s done.

Even though the recipe calls for whole milk and heavy cream, you can substitute 2% milk for the whole milk and half-and-half for the cram. Just know that the “lower fat” version will not be quite as rich and creamy as the full fat version. It’s still good, though!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
    3/4 cup granulated sugar
    pinch salt
    2 cups heavy cream
    1 T. vanilla extract
    1 cup M&Ms

Instructions

1. Whisk milk, sugar and salt in a medium bowl until sugar is dissolved.
2. Add heavy cream and vanilla and whisk until blended.
3. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and let it run for 20 minutes or until ice cream forms.
4. Stir in M&Ms. Tip: Use frozen M&Ms so the M&M colors won’t run.

Do you like homemade ice cream? What are your favorite homemade ice cream flavors? Let me know if you try this homemade vanilla ice cream recipe without eggs, I’d love to hear how it turned out for you.

I wish we had a Cuisinart ice cream maker!! We would try the lower fat version…we tend to buy lowfat ice cream, because it’s always still tasty.
    Happy summer!!

I love vanilla ice cream and I love M&M’s – so this treat is for me – but the lower fat version and I might use some other sweetener to lower the sugar amount.

I’m almost ashamed to admit that I haven’t used my ice cream maker since… I don’t even remember. Thanks for the reminder to dust the thing off and get it churning! And thanks for the eggless recipe. I’ll be trying it, for sure.

This recipe is so great. I purchased an ice cream maker decades ago. But it may be time to replace it.
