Captain America Shield Giant Cookie Cake
Team Captain America, this giant chocolate chip cookie shield is for you!
Instructions
  1. Press cookie dough into a round shape (or cake pan) and bake as directed (in your recipe or on the refrigerated dough package) until a toothpick in the center of your cookie cake comes out clean. It took my cookie about 16 minutes in a 350 degree oven to fully bake.
  2. Allow the cookie to cool completely. If you bake in a cake pan, leave it in the cake pan. It looks like a cool metal shield that way!
  3. Once the cookie is cooled, spread a thick layer of white icing to completely cover the top of the cookie.
  4. Now for the fun part: Decorating Captain America’s Shield with M&Ms! I used a star-shaped cookie cutter to give me a general outline of the star in the center of the cookie. But if you don’t have one, don’t worry. Just start placing blue M&Ms in a star shape and if you need to pull them out and start over – no big deal.
  5. Next for the Red M&Ms. Place them in a circle pattern that hits the 5 points of your Blue M&Ms star. Then fill in the spaces with Blue M&Ms where needed. I made a second circle of Red M&Ms around the first circle of Red M&Ms, then skipped a couple of inches to the outside for the final two rings of Red M&Ms. Cut and Serve.
