Edible Chocolate Bowls
Chocolate bowls are the coolest edible ice cream bowls ever! They are easy and fun to make, too.
  1. Gather ingredients. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
  2. Blow up balloons to approximately the size of a grapefruit. Wipe clean with a cloth. Coat the bottom half of the balloon with a thin layer of nonstick cooking spray and set aside on the baking sheet.
  3. Pour half of the chocolate chips into a small microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate chips in 30-second increments in the microwave, stirring in between each 30 second period. Chocolate chips take about 1-2 minutes to melt completely smooth. Be careful not to overcook the chocolate.
  4. Once the chocolate chips are melted, start dipping the balloons one by one. Take a balloon and hold it over the bowl of melted chocolate. Use a spoon or other utensil to spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over the bottom half of the balloon.
  5. Use a spoon to drop a teaspoon of melted chocolate onto the baking sheet. Set the chocolate dipped balloon on top of it. As the chocolate hardens, it will hold the balloon upright in place. Work quickly to dip the rest of the balloons in the chocolate before it hardens. Repeat step 3 to melt the other half of the chocolate chips as necessary to dip balloons.
  6. Allow chocolate dipped balloons to harden (about 30 minutes, depending on your kitchen’s temperature.) For faster results, put the baking sheet in the refrigerator.
  7. Carefully pop each balloon. Remove the balloon by carefully peeling it away from the chocolate. (The nonstick cooking spray should make balloon removal easier.)
  8. Add ice cream to bowls and serve immediately. Store leftover bowls in a cool place.
