Instructions
  1. Put OREO cookies in a food processor and chop until they are fine crumbs.
  2. Add cream cheese and blend into a dough-like consistency. You may need to do this by hand if your food processor does not get these completely blended.
  3. Use your hands to roll about a tablespoon size scoop of dough into balls. Place balls on a lined baking sheet. Freeze balls for at least 15 minutes before proceeding to the next step (dipping.) If you are making Rudolph OREO balls, see the directions below for how to add the antlers BEFORE freezing.
  4. When you are ready to dip your OREO balls into the candy coating, melt the candy coating according to package directions.
  5. TO MAKE RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER OREO BALLS: Break mini pretzels into antlers. You need two antlers for each OREO ball. Stick the antlers into the ball (where they would be placed on a reindeer head) and put the balls in the freezer for about 15 minutes. When you are ready, dip them in the melted chocolate candy, trying not to cover the pretzel antlers. You can even hold the antlers and dip the balls into the melted chocolate coating. After the balls are dipped in the melted chocolate candy coating, allow the excess to drip back into the bowl. Place the coated OREO ball onto a lined baking sheet and carefully stick on Rudolph’s candy eyeballs and M&M red nose in place before the coating re-hardens.
  6. TO MAKE CHRISTMAS OREO BALLS WITH SPRINKLES: Use a spoon to drop each OREO ball into the melted candy coating and turn it so it gets completely covered. Allow excess coating to drip back into the bowl, then place the coated OREO ball onto a lined baking sheet. Quickly add sprinkles to the top of your OREO ball before the candy coating hardens.
Recipe Notes
