I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Lionsgate. I received promotional item and a prize pack as a thank you for my participation.
On March 14, Lionsgate releases The Single Moms Club, a story of five struggling single Moms who put aside their differences in the midst of a school dilemma with their kids to form a support group. Even though the movie deals with the serious subject of single parenting, it looks as though there is a lot of comic relief. And we all know that comedy is one of movie director Tyler Perry’s areas of expertise.
The Single Moms Club is directed by and starring Tyler Perry as well as Amy Smart, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cocoa Brown, Zulay Henao and Nia Long. Watch the trailer here:

From the character Lytia on Parenting
“Just take it one snotty nose and one dirty diaper at a time, darlin”
I have had the opportunity to work with and get to know many young, single mothers in the past. Many of them faced a lot of hardship trying to do so many things like get a degree, work a full time job and care for their children. I always admired them for being able to do so much, even though a lot of the time many of them didn’t have much outside help or support. I never saw them get a break. Taking a break from life’s responsibilities isn’t really an option for single parents because there is no one else to pick up the slack.
The five women in The Single Moms Club find inspiration and laughter in their new sisterhood and help each other overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. Whether you are a single parent or not, I do know that friendship can help get you through good times and bad times. True friends are definitely a gift and a blessing. I look for friends who are positive, upbeat people. What qualities do you look for in a friend?
