Thanksgiving Ideas: Make a Turkey Veggie Tray

November 2, 2016 by Nicole

We started a Thanksgiving tradition a few years ago where we make a turkey veggie tray for one of our Thanksgiving appetizers. I was going through my photos from Thanksgivings past, and found this picture of a turkey made from vegetables. I had totally forgotten about it. You can easily make a turkey shape from any veggies you happen to have on hand. The more colorful, the better.

As you can see, we used baby carrots, red peppers, yellow peppers, green peppers, celery, black olives and cucumbers. It only takes a few minutes to arrange the veggies on the tray and it’s lots of fun to have a Turkey Veggie Platter.

I don’t know what this year’s vegetable turkey will look like yet – but I’ll be sure to take some better photos of it so I can share it next Thanksgiving. It’s an easy tradition that helps encourage my kids to eat their veggies.

So grab a tray or large plate, and use this photo as a guide to help you put together your turkey veggie tray. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Michelle! It’s such an easy thing to do and actually I have lots of fun doing it. I may let the kids be in charge of making our veggie turkey this year and see how it turns out. 🙂

It’s really super easy – the kids even helped out! We did a fruit turkey this year, I’ll have to post pictures of that soon…or at least by next Thanksgiving. LOL

How cute is that?! My family would get a real kick out of that! My kids might even eat some veggies if I served them like this!!
