HUGE New Cookbook ~ Taste of Home Best Loved Recipes Review

September 13, 2012 by Nicole

Taste of Home has a new cookbook that was 20 years in the making!  Taste of Home Best Loved Recipes: 1485 Favorites from the World’s #1 Food & Entertaining Magazine features the best of the best of the BEST reader submitted recipes. I have a copy and it’s truly unbelievably awesome! Take a look at how thick it is:

I can honestly say that flipping through this cookbook’s pages will have your mouth watering and stomach growling (at least that is what it did for me!). I did the math, and 1485+ recipes means you can cook something totally delicious and brand new for your family every single day for more than four years!!

The color photos are one of my favorite features because I can actually see what the recipe should look like. That may not be a huge deal to all you expert kitchen moms, but it is helpful for average little me to have a photo to guide me while I cook and bake. Of course, there can’t be a picture of every single one of the hundreds of recipes included in this book, but there are definitely a lot of them:

The cookbook is divided into chapters that make finding just the right recipe for every occasion. I love the Mom Made it Best chapter because it is full of recipes that have been handed down from mom to mom over the years. We go to the occasional potluck dinner and now I can skip to the Potluck Picks to find a tried and true recipe to take with us. There are so many more amazing features of a cookbook this complete that I notice something new every time I pick it up.

The best part? Each recipe has been evaluated and selected by the Taste of Home test kitchen as the best of the best and can be recreated in your kitchen with readily accessible ingredients. Once you have this cookbook, you may decide it’s the last cookbook you’ll ever need!

Other Great Features:

  • Prep/Cook Times
  • Top 100 favorite recipes marked with an icon
  • Everyday ingredients
  • Easy-to-follow directions
  • How-to photos and cooking tips
  • Personal stories
  • Ribbon marker
