Our doorbell rang on Christmas Eve morning. It was the delivery man, bringing a big box filled with the newest varieties of Dr. Lucy’s Cookies! My kids were so excited to receive a box filled with cute boxes of cookies that they were well into eating the Chocolate Cookies before I had the chance to explain to them that the cookies may be a little different from cookies they normally eat. “Different” as in Lucy’s Cookies are gluten-free and based on our past experiences with other brands of gluten-free cookies, there was a chance my kids would not like them.
As it turns out, none of my kids had any issues with eating these cookies. I didn’t have to explain why they were different – no one seemed to notice, and if they did, they certainly didn’t mind because they kept right on eating the Ginger Snaps and Maple Bliss cookies, too. Dr. Lucy’s Cookies have a crispy, light texture and they aren’t too sweet. I was really surprised to find that a gluten-free cookie could actually taste good.
A Healthy Cookie That is Allergy-Friendly
I’m lucky that my children do not have an allergy-restricted diet. I know several children with food allergies, and their parents struggle to find fun snack foods that their children can eat. Too often, their children don’t get to have “the good stuff” at snack time. I plan to tell these friends: Let your children try these cookies! Lucy’s Cookies were developed by Dr. Lucy Gibney, the parent of a child with severe food allergies. These cookies are gluten free and made without milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts. Children who need allergy-friendly food can finally enjoy treats like cookies that taste GOOD, the way cookies should!
We were able to share a few boxes of Lucy’s Cookies with friends whose children have an allergy-restricted diet. I was so happy to be able to tell my friend about Lucy’s Cookies and give her children sweet treats during the holiday season. They love the cookies, too – and were especially glad to find out that they can buy them at a local retailer.
Currently, there are 7 flavor varieties of Lucy’s Cookies: Sugar Cookie, Cinnamon Thin, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Cookie, Ginger Snap, Maple Bliss and Chocolate Cookie. Healthy snack cookies can taste good!
