Children will love to celebrate Earth Day with Club Penguin! Now through April 25, Disney’s Club Penguin members can dress up as endangered species like Rockhopper Penguins and Snow Leopards. This type of role play helps kids learn about the animals, plus gives them the chance to take part in real-life environmental efforts supported by Club Penguin. Last year, as part of Club Penguin’s Coins for Change program, an annual in-world event where the company matches the virtual coins players donate to real world causes — players voted to give 37% of a $2M donation to support environment and conservation projects!
Every player (whether you are a Club Penguin member or not) can collect one free Earth Day item – a Safari Hat – and explore all of the habitats. Club Penguin members will be able to collect 2 NEW full body items (a Rockhopper Penguin costume and a Lion costume) and 2 items brought back from last year (Snow Leopard and African Painted Dog).
My son loves to play Club Penguin and I think the Earth Day Event is a great time to let kids learn about endangered animals as they enjoy the online game. It’s also a wonderful time for kids to have the opportunity to contribute to social change.
