DIY Toilet Bowl Cleaning Tablets are easy to make with just three simple, inexpensive ingredients plus the essential oil of your choice for scent.

In my opinion, these homemade toilet cleaner tablets are a Blueland toilet cleaner dupe. You can purchase all the necessary ingredients to make several dozen DIY toilet tablets for less than a Blueland 14 pack.

In addition to your favorite essential oil, you will need: Baking Soda, Citric Acid, and Hydrogen Peroxide.

You will also need a large mixing bowl, a spoon, a silicone mold (mini muffin mold creates a tablet shape) OR a 1/4 cup measuring cup to use as a tablet mold and a flat baking sheet.

A small spray bottle is helpful, but not necessary to add small amounts of moisture to the mix as you go. If you don’t have a spray bottle, add drops a few at a time using a spoon or dropper.

I upcycled a 2 ounce Everyone Hand Sanitizer Spray bottle to help me mist my dry ingredients. Hang on to your empty bottles, they can be useful in so many ways around the house.

Flush toilet and allow it to refill with clean water.

2. Drop one toilet cleaning tablet into the toilet bowl water and allow it to fizz and sit for 5-10 minutes.

3. Get a toilet scrub brush and use it to swish the water around inside the toilet and brush to clean around the inside of the toilet bowl.

For best results, deep clean the toilet bowl regularly.

Ingredients

1 cup Baking Soda
1/4 cup Citric Acid
1 Tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
1 teaspoon essential oil (about 30 drops)

Instructions

1. Mix and Shake Wet Ingredients well before using In spray bottle or dropper:

1 Tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
1 teaspoon essential oil (about 30 drops)

2. Mix Dry Mixture well in a mixing bowl:

1 cup Baking Soda

1/4 cup Citric Acid

3. Spray dry mixture or carefully apply 1-2 drops at a time with the hydrogen peroxide essential oil blend (wet ingredients). Stir constantly to evenly dampen all dry mix ingredients. The mixture should feel like damp sand, but not so wet that it starts fizzing.

4. Once mixture starts clumping together (and feels like damp sand) press the mixture into silicone mold cups.

5. Continue to spray to keep ingredients slightly damp but not fizzing (a little fizz is ok but a lot is not)

6. Allow mix to dry overnight in the silicone mold. Carefully release from the silicone mold to a baking sheet. If the mix is not completely dry, continue to let it air dry.

Alternate Method: Press mixture into 1/4 cup size measuring cup and gently tap cup to release and place on a baking sheet to dry.

Toilet tablets should be completely dry and ready to use. Store in an airtight container away from water or damp conditions.
