Count Dracula welcomes you to his lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up without being bothered by humans. Dracula’s beloved daughter Mavis is celebrating her 118th birthday, and he has invited many of his closest friends: Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, and the Werewolf family to Hotel Transylvania for the special day. The game is pretty easy for just about anyone ages 8 and up to pick up and play. You play the game as the Mavis character, who is trying to save her friend Johnny from being eaten by the monsters. There isn’t any graphic violence in the game, so I let my 8-year-old see what he thought about it. At first, he was a little frustrated that he couldn’t get into all the places he wanted to go in the Hotel Transylvania. But that is part of the game. You can gain powers and unlock different areas of the hotel by interacting with the different monsters you meet along the way. Overall, it isn’t too challenging. Hotel Transylvania is a fun choice for a Halloween-themed game for older kids and teens.
