Before you can make shaved ice, you will need to fill the ice molds and freeze them to create the ice discs to put in the machine to make the shaved ice.
Obviously, the blade that shaves the ice is super sharp, so it is recommended that only adults use the machine. However, it is safe and easy for adults to use the machine to make shave ice.
When you are ready to make shaved ice, take your frozen ice molds out of the freezer.
A pro tip we learned from the instruction booklet was to let the ice thaw for about 5 to 7 minutes. This will make a little bit softer shaved ice.
You can also use the black knob on the shaved ice machine to adjust for softer shaved ice or coarser shaved ice. It’s as easy as turning the knob right and left to get it exactly how you like your shaved ice.
