When I shop for children’s toys, I do my best to find products that are high quality, durable and made by an eco-friendly company. HABA makes all of its natural toys from sustainable wood and has been awarded the PEFC quality symbol for sustainable and responsible forestry management. Many of their toys have received numerous recognition, including awards from Parents’ Choice, Creative Child, Dr. Toy and The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio and Best Toys of the Year from the Today Show. Their products can be found nationwide at over 1,000 specialty retail stores, catalogs and websites.
HABA Sorting Box Animals ($35, ages 1 and up)
My 2-year-old son recently received the HABA Sorting Box Animals toy. The bright colors and pictures on the wooden pieces are like a magnet for him. There are 4 different shape sorting scenes that can be switched out on the shape sorting box. Each scene features different animals and their favorite foods. We have been playing match the shapes as we learn the favorite food of the cat, dog and sheep as pictured on the different blocks.
Shape sorting toys are a great way for children to work on their motor skills. My son enjoys trying to figure out which piece fits into the right hole – it is fun for me to watch his little hands at work. I like that we can easily switch out the shape sorting scenes, which means the game is always changing to keep his interest with new challenges. It’s very nice to know that HABA’s wooden toys are made to last a long time because I want to be able to pass them down to my younger children.
HABA has a wonderful line of high quality products that will encourage your child’s creative development. Their carefully crafted wooden toys for every age and stage are very appealing to children. Surprise your young explorers with a HABA toy this holiday season.
