Holiday Gift Guide: PlasmaCar Ride On Toy (Kids ages 3 and up)

The PlasmaCar by Plasmart is one of the world’s bestselling ride-on toys for children ages 3 and up. I love toys that encourage active play and help my children use up some of their limitless energy.

My family received a red PlasmaCar for review and right away, I knew that we were going to need more than one! All of my kids were so excited for their turn to ride the PlasmaCar. It’s simple to ride and set into motion. All you have to do is sit down and turn the steering wheel. The natural forces of inertia and friction take over and the PlasmaCar will go wherever you steer it.

PlasmaCars work best on flat, smooth surfaces. Since it is winter time and there is snow on the ground outside our house, we are currently able to ride indoors on wooden flooring. Space is limited, so we aren’t quite sure just how fast our PlasmaCar will actually go, but the manufacturer assures us that the fastest speed it will reach is a kid-friendly 6 mph (10kph).

The older boys (ages 4 and 8 years) spend hours riding around and around in our indoor play area. They are looking forward to next spring when they can take the PlasmaCar outdoors to the driveway. Even my 2 year old likes to go for PlasmaCar rides. He isn’t quite big enough to master it by himself, but we give him a little help and he has the best time.

I have a confession to make. Once the kids were in bed, I was able to take my own ride on the PlasmaCar. It was surprisingly easy to maneuver, I could make it go in reverse and even make sharp turns. Riding is so much fun, there are times I just can’t resist the urge to hop on the PlasmaCar. My kids were amazed to learn that Mommy can ride, too!

My kids absolutely love the PlasmaCar. It has already provided hours of entertainment – even indoors! I know it will only be even more fun when they can ride outdoors where they have more room to get around. We’ll probably end up having to buy one for each of them – they are so much fun, it’s hard to want to share.
