5 Easy Tips For a More Organized Kitchen Pantry

May 12, 2016 by Nicole

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Duck Brand. All opinions are 100% mine.

I try to do a total kitchen pantry reorganization at least once a year. Organized pantry shelves make it so much easier to see what we have and find things we need. If I take the time to do it right, my pantry stays cleaner, longer. I think it’s a job totally worth doing, and want to share 5 easy tips for a more organized kitchen pantry.

Organized Pantry

Kitchen Pantry Organization Tips

Tip 1: TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF THE PANTRY.

Yes, everything! Check your canned food items and toss anything that has expired. Other items to get rid of: Open food that has not been stored properly and food items you are never going to use. Consider donating unopened, unexpired food to a local food bank.

Tip 2: LINE SHELVES WITH A SHELF LINER.

Shelf liners are a must to keep the pantry clean. I use Solid Grip Easy Liner® with Clorox® because they are easy to wipe clean from crumbs and spills, plus they have a non-slip surface that stays put on shelves. These are perfect for all closet and pantry shelves, including wire shelves, because the solid surface doesn’t let anything fall through the cracks. These bleach-free liners have an anti-microbial additive embedded into the material for protection against mold and mildew.

Prep your shelves for a pantry shelf liner by wiping away all dust, dirt and crumbs. Roll out the easy Liner onto the shelf and use scissors to cut the liner to fit. It’s really easy! Learn more about how to use Easy Liner® with Clorox® in closets, pantries and even refrigerators.

Tip 3: GROUP LIKE ITEMS TOGETHER ON THE SAME SHELF.

Organize kitchen pantry shelves by grouping like items together on the same shelf. For example, I put all of our Breakfast Foods like cereal boxes together on a shelf. I keep Snack Foods, Baking Items, and Canned Foods in their own areas, too.

Tip 4: USE BASKETS.

I like to use baskets to corral smaller items. This really helps to keep things from getting lost in the pantry.

Tip 5: USE A CAN ORGANIZER.

My wire can organizer has been a game-changer in my pantry. It saves space because I can put it on the floor, underneath my shelves. It holds a lot of canned foods and makes it easy for me to see what canned food items we have on hand.
