I am always looking for new ways to feed my children healthy foods. I also like to find meals that are quick and easy to prepare, especially during the day. My boys don’t have any food allergies or other dietary restrictions, so I have never had to worry too much about what goes into their foods. Of course, I try to keep things simple and wholesome. But when Udi’s Gluten Free asked me to make a gluten-free recipe that was so good you wouldn’t even know it was gluten-free, I wasn’t sure exactly where to start!
I decided that Udi’s Gluten Free Community would be a safe place to find information I could trust – and I was right! I found a lot of helpful information about gluten-free diets, products, and recipes. There are so many delicious gluten-free recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks available right there on the site.
The recipe that immediately jumped out at me was called Udi-Tella Sandwiches. Oh yes, the “Tella” does stand for one of my family’s favorite foods, Nutella! And the good news just keeps coming: Udi-Tella Sandwiches are super easy to make using only 3 ingredients – Nutella, bananas, and Udi’s Gluten-free bread. I had to try this recipe!
Udi-Tella Sandwiches are a hit at my house! Bananas + Nutella + Bread (and a couple minutes on the frying pan) = Delicious, Healthy & Kid-friendly Meal.
Take a look – my kids love the sandwiches and didn’t have a clue that the Udi’s gluten-free bread was any different from our usual bread:
And here is how you can make these yummy Udi-Tella Sandwiches at your house:
- Place 2 slices of Udi’s gluten-free bread on a flat surface, and spread 1 tablespoon Nutella evenly on each one.
- Slice bananas and layer on top of Nutella. Top with another slice of bread.
- Preheat grill or fry pan to 375 degrees, and coat grill or pan with melted butter. Place sandwiches in pan and grill until golden brown on bottom, flip over and cook second side until golden brown.

I was really happy to see that my kids could enjoy eating an easy-to-make gluten-free meal. Udi-Tella Sandwiches are something we had never tried before – but will definitely be eating more often. It’s fun to try something new!
My kids are happy when mom tries new things that end as deliciously as our gluten-free experiment! And I’m happy that I found a new way to feed them a nutritious meal that they love to eat. What do you like about trying new things?
