Move Over, Google Page Rank (Really?!?)

Ever since starting my blog (way back in January), I have been patiently waiting for Google Page Rank to update so that I could hopefully upgrade myself from a zero Page Rank to something better…even a ONE would be much better than a big, fat ZERO.

To be honest with you, I don’t even understand WHY Google Page Rank is so important and I have even less of a clue as to exactly WHAT having a Google Page Rank even means. All I know for sure is that Google Page Rank is a scale of 0 to 10 and that Public Relations people who are looking for product review bloggers really want the blogs to have a Google Page Rank (of at least 3 or more, it seems). It is so disappointing to be denied great review opportunities because I don’t have a Google Page Rank.

I recently heard rumors that Google Page Rank will be updating any day that stirred up my hopes that I may soon be deemed officially Google-worthy and get that elusive Google Page Rank.

However, for what it’s worth, I just read a blog post by Real Mom Reviews about Google Page Rank’s rival, the Website Grader. Apparently, Google Page Rank does not have a monopoly on evaluating and ranking web sites. And guess what else? I tried it out myself and got INSTANT results about my blog and how it is doing traffic and SEO-wise. Here’s a little blip of the informative report about Mom Always Finds Out generated by the Website Grader:

The website momalwaysfindsout.com ranks 63,248 of the 3,620,706 websites that have been ranked so far.
A website grade of 98/100 for momalwaysfindsout.com means that of the millions of websites that have previously been evaluated, our algorithm has calculated that this site scores higher than 98% of them in terms of its marketing effectiveness. The algorithm uses a proprietary blend of over 50 different variables, including search engine data , website structure, approximate traffic, site performance, and others.

I am so excited to put my Website Grader badge on my blog’s homepage so that when I need to show some sort of number to Public Relations people, they can see how Mom Always Finds Out ranks according to very similar algorithms used to determine Google Page Rank.

Do you have a blog and/or web site? Head over to Website Grader and get your report. I have found the information I got from them to be very helpful and I also got ideas on what I need to work on to improve.
