Sports Illustrated Kids Baseball Books

April 5, 2016 by Nicole

Sports Illustrated Kids Baseball Books are the perfect way to get kids excited about baseball season! We recently received review copies of two of SI Kids’ latest books about baseball. SI Kids My First Book of Baseball is just the thing young rookies need to explain mostly everything about the game. Older kids who are into baseball trivia and fun facts will love Sports Illustrated Kids Baseball Then to Wow! Both books are by the Editors of Sports Illustrated Kids, so you can be sure they are jam-packed with real Sports Illustrated photography and lots of interesting info for the kiddos.

My First Book of Baseball (A Rookie Book) is a must for any newcomer to the sport. It’s written for younger kids ages 3 to 8 years old, with simple sentences, photos and illustrations to help kids understand everything about the game from Innings to Strike Zones, Outs to Home Runs.

Kids can read this book with parents to learn the basics of how to play baseball from the start of a Major League game to the finish. This book is a great way to teach kids so they will be ready to play in their own Little League baseball games or even just to have a better understanding of what’s going on in any baseball game they watch. There’s even a glossary at the end of the book, full of essential baseball terms everyone should know.

BASEBALL Then to Wow! takes readers through a basic history of baseball from the 1920s to the 2010s. There’s talk about teams, uniforms, famous baseball players and a whole lot more. It’s written with kids ages 8 to 12 years old in mind. They will enjoy the photos and illustrations, easy-to-understand timelines and fun facts all about baseball’s past and present.

Kids will learn about how baseball has evolved over the past century. They will see just how much everything about baseball’s strategy has changed over the years. They will get to know some of history’s greatest baseball players and see the evolution of equipment from the original fingerless gloves to today’s specially tailored mitts. There’s even a special section all about baseball park food, baseball cards and popular video games.
