Special thanks to our sponsor for bringing you this blog post, Stocking Stuffers For Kids (Free Printable Stocking Stuffer Ideas List). All opinions expressed are 100% my own. #CrestSmiles
Christmas stockings are one of my family’s favorite Christmas morning traditions. My husband and I gift wrap most of the kids’ stocking stuffers so they can’t just dump out their stockings and move on to the next gift. It’s way more fun to unwrap stocking stuffer surprises one by one.
My rules for stocking stuffers for kids are pretty simple.
DO: Fill stockings with items kids will actually want and/or use.
DON’T: Waste money on junk items simply to take up space in the stockings.
There’s no need to stress about shopping for stocking stuffers. I was able to buy a variety of stocking stuffers for kids all at one place: my local Kroger store.

What kinds of things should you put in the kids’ stockings?
I don’t like to put useless (aka junk) items in the stockings. So what kinds of things make good stocking stuffer ideas for kids? I keep it simple by breaking stocking stuffers down into 3 categories: Something Fun, Something Sweet To Eat, and Something Useful.
Each of my kids get a couple items from each category. Remember to keep in mind each child’s likes and dislikes while shopping the stocking stuffer ideas list.
- Something Fun: Small toy and/or Art Supplies
- Something Sweet: Treats To Eat
- Something Useful: Personal Care Items
Our boys always get a toy car in their stockings. It’s tradition! They love candy, mints, and gum so I can never go wrong putting those kinds of things in the stockings. And finally, Christmas is a good day for the kids to get a new toothbrush and toothpaste. They will definitely need to brush their teeth after eating all their holiday treats. Kid’s Crest toothpaste makes a great stocking stuffer idea for kids!

When I was growing up, my mom always put a flashlight in the kids’ stockings. We looked forward to getting a new flashlight every year. My husband’s parents always put an orange in the toes of their Christmas stockings. We carry on their family tradition of gift wrapping stocking stuffers.
