Tieks Review

Tieks Review Box

If ballet flats are your go-to shoe…you have got to try a pair of Tieks flats. They are “The Ballet Flat, Reinvented.” These high end designer ballet flats shoes are made with 100% Italian leather (except for the Vegan collection). Many leather shoes feel stiff at first – but not my Tieks. The soft leather was comfortable from Day One – and got even more comfortable with wear.

I must have been in a practical shopping mood when I visited the online Tieks boutique. Their ballet flats come in a rainbow of colors. Normally, I would say that I am the type of shoe person who buys something besides a black ballet flat. But I didn’t. I came away with one of the Tieks Classics – the Matte Black ballet flat. And I’m happy with my choice because it was the perfect start to my Tieks collection.

You cannot go wrong with a black flat. It’s a wardrobe staple. I have worn them with jeans and skirts – the Matte Black Tieks look great with just about everything. They are easy to take anywhere (perfect for travel) because they completely fold up to fit into their little compact pouch. They even come with a reuseable bag to hold your other shoes so you can switch them out.

The portability of Tieks ballet flats came in really handy when I flew from cold, snowy Utah to warm, sunny California last month. I was able to fold them up in my purse so I could change into them from my winter boots once we landed. Then I took my Tieks for a walk in their hometown of Beverly Hills.

Fun Fact I learned about Tieks on Facebook

I happened to be scrolling my Facebook feed when I saw a beautiful pair of Tieks pictured along with a little blurb that said: It takes 3 days and over 150 steps to make a single pair of Tieks. Tieks on Facebook.

Amazing, right? Another cool thing about Tieks by Gavrieli is that the Gavrieli Foundation supports women entrepreneurs in the U.S. and around the world for social change.

My Tieks Wish List.

Visit Tieks online and start your wish list. Let me know what colors you would pick. I have already got my eye on the Pop Pink ones from the Neon Collection. I know once the weather gets a little bit warmer here in Utah, I’ll be wanting to wear bright colors. Another pair on my Wish List is the Rose Gold Glam – it’s so pretty! These are such comfortable ballet flats, made to be durable and long-lasting. I’m saving up to buy a brightly colored pair to wear this spring and summer.

How to recognize a Tieks girl.

It’s easy to recognize a pair of Tieks ballet flats because of the signature blue soles and blue stripe on the back. Tieks girls love to show off their style and stand out in a crowd.

Fashionable and Functional Flats.

The blue soles are non-skid and the inner cushion is thick, so I can wear these flats all day long without getting foot fatigue. I have actually put these to the test several times by wearing them on trips where I knew I would be walking for hours on end. My Tieks did a great job on long days. I would normally wear athletic shoes for extensive walking, but these flats exceeded my expectations. I noticed my feet did not get sweaty or slippery on the inside. And I have never suffered a blister even after walking around town for 8 plus hours.

My advice for you if you are in-between sizes.

If you are in between sizes like I am, my advice is to go to the next size up. Most other people who wrote Tieks reviews suggest doing that. I almost sized down, because I usually go to the half size down. But I decided to listen to their advice, and I’m glad I did. Instead of an 8, I got a size 9. It was the perfect fit.

Whoops, I just realized I am no longer on the tieks.com site, as I was so excited about your review. My apologies 🙂

I’ve my eyes on the Obsidian black or Matte black pair. I wear size 5.5 Cole Haan Tali Wedge shoes (no socks) and size 6 for boots. Do you think I should buy size 6 shoes then?

      Hi Vee,
I would think that your safest bet would be to try sizing up to a size 6 first. If you usually sized down to a 5, I would say go for a 5. But since you do sometimes go up to the size 6, I’d say start there. Tieks customer service is awesome if you want to give them a call or email. I am sure they would be happy to help you figure out your options. Good luck – I love my Tieks. I hope you find the ones you love, too. –Nicole
