Why I Send Wet Ones Wipes To School in My Child’s Lunch Box (And You Should, Too!)

August 12, 2015 by Nicole

It is Back-To-School time, which means I’ll be back to packing school lunches really soon. I have already started shopping for lunch supplies. A few of our must-haves items are reusable lunch boxes, food containers and Wet Ones® wet wipes. Lunch boxes and food containers are pretty self-explanatory, but why are wet wipes at the top of my list? To put it simply: Because I want to make sure my son cleans his hands at lunch time.

Germs and bacteria are all over the place, especially in school classrooms and playgrounds. Kids share school supplies, computer keyboards and playground equipment. It is a healthy habit to teach kids to wash their hands before they touch the food going into their mouths. Wet Ones wipes make it easy to clean your hands anytime, anywhere.

Why I send two Wet Ones® wipes to school in my child’s lunch box (and you should, too!)

I send not one, but two Wet Ones Singles to school for my child to use at lunchtime. That way, he can wipe his hands before AND after he eats with individual wet wipes. The kids spend all morning in class or outside on the playground, touching all sorts of germs and bacteria. They need to clean their hands before they touch their food. After they eat, they need to wipe any crumbs and sticky residue off their hands. Wet Ones wipes make it easy for kids to enjoy their lunch with clean hands.

Why we choose Wet Ones®

We like Wet Ones® wet wipes because they kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria, but they are gentle on skin. Wet Ones wipes are hypoallergenic, and won’t dry or irritate skin like hand sanitizers can do.

Another thing my kids love for me to include in their lunch boxes: Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish Crackers. We don’t just buy the bags or boxes — we get the huge Goldfish Cracker cartons at Walmart. I have four kids, and if I had to guess, I’d say we eat about 5 million Goldfish Crackers every school year! Goldfish Crackers are a snack time favorite for my big kids AND my little kids.

Be on the lookout for an upcoming blog post with even more school lunch ideas. I’ll show you how I use Goldfish Crackers and Wet Ones® to create a super fun and healthy school lunch for my kids.
