MetLife wants to honor moms this Mother’s Day by making donations to a charitable cause. And we can help them give to mothers in need through the Dress for Success organization by writing Moems.
What is a #Moem?
A Moem is a short tribute poem (110 characters or less) written and posted on social media channels with the hashtag #moem.
For every Moem written, MetLife will donate $10 to Dress For Success Worldwide, a charity that helps low income women gain financial independence for themselves and their families through supporting their search for professional employment.
You don’t need Shakespearean skills to write a Moem. The Moem Maker helps you along. And even though I didn’t follow the rhyme suggestions in my moem, that’s okay! I am happy with the way my Moem turned out so I could share it with my friends on Twitter and Facebook.
That’s really all there is to it. So spread the word to your family and friends: Write a Moem! Have your children create a Moem for you. Make up special Moems for your mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, best friends. It’s simple, fun and best of all, will help bring joy to the lives of other mothers.
Let’s help MetLife reach their $50,000 donation goal by the deadline: midnight on Mother’s Day. It only takes a “moement” to write and share your moem.
Inspire us with your “moetic” words! After you share your moem on Twitter and/or Facebook, stop by and share your moem with us in the comments below.
