5 Natural Ways To Fight Colds

September 22, 2012 by Nicole 1 Comment

We all know the way they start…the tickle in the back of our throat, the cough, sniffling and sneezing. Every year, there are more than 1 billion colds in the United States. A few well-known home remedies for colds include getting plenty of rest, washing our hands, and drinking lots of fluids. But did you know there are other natural remedies for colds? The following list includes natural remedies to ease your discomfort and relieve your cold symptoms, along with the products that use them as ingredients.

Zinc Gluconate: Because of zinc’s antiviral properties, taking a well-formulated zinc cold remedy, such as zinc gluconate, at the onset of a cold can significantly reduce the cold’s duration and severity, according to a comprehensive review of medical research on the subject. The delivery method of zinc is critical to its effectiveness; certain additives can prohibit the zinc icons from being released. Carefully research your zinc product choice to ensure effective treatment.
