Animal Planet books are a great way to entice kids to read this summer. Kids are instantly attracted to the colorful photography and drawn to the fun animal fact snippets found on every page. I just received review copies of the following books, and my kids couldn’t wait to start thumbing through them.
Are you planning a trip to the zoo or aquarium this summer? Animal Planet recently released some awesome new books just in time to help you celebrate National Zoo & Aquarium month. Add to the fun with downloadable Animal Fun Fact cards that go along with the series.

Favorite farm animals and awe-inspiring wild animals come alive in all their glory to entice emerging readers. Which wild animals have white “eyespots” that make it seem like they have eyes in the back of their head (Amur tigers), and which farm animals share babysitting duty (Alpacas)? Well-designed for a younger crowd, colorful tabs identify each section, while bite-sized sidebars, illustrated maps, a handy glossary, and stellar photos encourage kids to navigate the world of animals that may not live right in their backyard.

I especially love that the atlas comes in a hardcover over-sized edition. All of our Animal Planet books have inspired my kids to learn more about animals, birds and creatures we never would have known existed! These are educational yet really fun books kids can enjoy looking at over and over again.
Thanks to Animal Planet, we have learned a lot about animals where we live and in faraway places. I am happy to have these books as part of my children’s home library.
