My favorite room of the house to clean would have to be the bathroom. NOT! I would never say that in a million years. I have four boys (five if you count my husband) so I’ll leave it up to your imagination to think about just how much fun it is for me to clean our bathrooms, especially around the toilet.
However, I do love a sparkling bathroom. It is so much easier to keep your bathroom clean in between deep cleanings when you take a minute or two every day to 1) clear clutter from the countertops and 2) do a wipe down of the major surfaces (the sink, counter and toilet seat). I like to keep a canister of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes handy for quick cleaning jobs. You’d be surprised by how fast I can clean a bathroom with Clorox wipes when unannounced guests show up at our home.
There’s no way around it: You have to clean the bathroom. So why not try to make the job a little bit easier? Take a look at some of my favorite bathroom cleaning hacks to help out!
Save time when you keep bathroom cleaning supplies handy. Create a bathroom cleaning supply kit in a bucket or caddy that can be stored in or near your bathroom. A cleaning kit is convenient, plus saves time and trouble when you don’t have to gather supplies every time you need to clean the bathroom.
Make sure you are cleaning AND disinfecting bathroom germs. Not all cleaners are disinfectants. Be sure you are using a disinfectant product that will kill germs, including cold and flu viruses, on bathroom surfaces. Disinfecting Wipes are a multi-tasking product that can remove 99.9% of germs, bacteria, and countless other nasty things you find lurking in the bathroom.
Use a multi-purpose cleaner. There’s no need to buy ten different kinds of cleaning products when one multi-purpose cleaner can get the job done. Disinfectant Scrubbing Bubbles is a great choice for an all-purpose cleaner in the bathroom. The antibacterial and antiviral formula foams as it expands into nooks and crannies, cleaning soap scum, lifting dirt and fighting grime. You can use to clean bathroom surfaces including glazed ceramic tile, glazed porcelain surfaces, sealed fiberglass and more.
Sanitize Toothbrush Holders and Bath Toys in the Dishwasher. As long as your toothbrush holders and bath toys are dishwasher safe, you can clean them in the dishwasher. Stick them in on the top rack and run the normal cycle to clean and sanitize.
Erase the “ring around the toilet” caused by hard water in seconds with a pumice stone. Even the most stubborn toilet stains are no match for a pumice stone.
Used canned air to blow the dust and debris out of bathroom exhaust fans. You should also remove and wipe your bathroom fan clean at least twice a year. A clean bathroom fan helps reduce odors and the amount of dust circulating in the air.
Cold and flu season is back, bringing infectious germs with it. I try to prevent germs from spreading by keeping my house clean. It’s easy to stock up on cleaning supplies at The Home Depot. They have everything I need for cleaning and disinfecting the bathroom and beyond.
