Until recently, I was afraid to use bleach on my laundry. In fact, I quit using bleach on our laundry a few years ago because but no matter how careful I was, I managed to splash bleach on myself or onto something else that would get ruined. But then I heard about new Clorox MyUltimateCare Bleach, a no-splash bleach that is gentle enough to use on delicate whites.
Clorox MyUltimateCare Bleach is available at Target.
I didn’t even know a thick, splashless bleach formula existed! Another bonus to Clorox MyUltimateCare bleach? There’s no overpowering bleach smell. It’s still there, but it is definitely a lot more subtle than the regular bleach smell. I am glad that my laundry does not come out of the wash smelling like bleach.
I use Clorox MyUltimateCare bleach on my white laundry, which is mostly sheets, towels and t-shirts. Since the formula is so gentle, I don’t have to worry about it eating a hole in my sheets, towels or delicate clothing. I also don’t worry as much about accidental splashes – the thicker formula does make a difference.
We have recently started replacing our faded colored towels with all-white towels. There’s several reasons I am making the switch, but one is so my towels will last longer. Colored towels tend to fade and need to be replaced often. White towels can be brightened with bleach.
Our hand towels get dirty fast. I live in a house with four little boys – and I don’t know exactly what happens when they wash their hands…but a lot of dirt comes off on the towels. You’d think I had taken this towel outside and rubbed it in the mud, but I promise you, I did not. This is the type of laundry I deal with every day.
A second reason I like white towels is that it’s easy to get rid of mildewy smells using MyUltimateCare bleach. I can’t use bleach on colored towels. My soft, fluffy towels still feel fluffy and soft even after I wash them with MyUltimateCare bleach. They look, feel and smell fresh.
How to wash white clothes with Clorox MyUltimateCare Bleach.
First rule of using bleach: Always sort your laundry and wash whites separately.
If you have a standard washing machine…you will use your normal amount of detergent, and start your laundry as usual. Five minutes into the wash cycle, you will add one cap full of Clorox MyUltimateCare bleach. *For heavily soiled loads, you may want to use 1.5 capfuls.
If you have a high-efficiency machine…fill the measuring cap to the blue line and add to your machine’s bleach dispenser. Wash load as usual. *Adjust washing machine’s settings to the Whites setting if it has one.
Another cool thing about Clorox MyUltimateCare Bleach is that it can be poured directly onto whites to pretreat stains.
HOW TO PRETREAT STAINS: For heavily soiled laundry, apply MyUltimateCare bleach directly to stain, rub in and let it sit for up to 3 minutes. Wash immediately.
Do you bleach your white laundry? Have you tried Clorox MyUltimateCare Bleach? Be sure to look for it at Target. I found ours on the laundry aisle next to regular Clorox bleach.
