Calafant takes eco-friendly cardboard crafts to the next level with their Do It Yourself cardboard robot kit from the Creative ToyShop. The 3D recycled cardboard toys do not require any cutting with scissors or glue – all the pieces are precut and ready to be put together. The new Calabot (robot) kit measures approximately 21″ x 16″ x 9″ when assembled. Once the Calabot is put together, kids can spend hours decorating it with paints, stickers, and anything else their creative little hands can find to use on it.

It takes about 45 minutes from start to finish – and my kids lost interest somewhere along the way. I continued to keep building by myself, because I knew they would be back. And they did come back towards the end, once the robot was actually taking shape and looked like something to be excited about. I should note that my oldest two kids are 4 and 8 years old. Children this young will definitely need adult assistance for this particular kit. (It’s a skill Level 3, which is the hardest level of Calafant kits.)
Behold! My Masterpiece!
Once the Calabot was finished, it looked awesome! It was bigger than I thought it would be and the kids thought he looked really cool. Not to mention that they thought I was the coolest mom ever for being able to put him together. All the boys had fun getting out every set of paints they owned to decorate him. I think our Calabot was watercolored, fingerpainted, and felt tip markered on for at least a couple of hours!
