Mom Always Finds Out received drinking jars with lids, straws and other accessories for review purposes. All opinions expressed are my own.
I grew up in the South, where it’s quite common to drink out of canning jars instead of regular glasses. Do you use jars or glasses at your house? Reusable drinking jars are an eco friendly option that are affordable and sturdy.
The Pint and a Half helps me take my drinking jars to the next level. This online shop is THE place to buy drinking jars, lids, straws, sleeves and cozies. One of my very favorite jar accessories you’ll find at The Pint and a Half are the darling neoprene cozies (pictured below). They are so colorful and fun. Everyone in my family has their own favorite cozy so we can easily identify our jars.
As you can tell from the picture, there are a variety of options to help customize your drinking jars. It’s fun to put together your family’s unique collection with different types and sizes of jars, lids, silicone sleeves, straws, and neoprene cozies.
Jars like these can be used for so many things beyond drinking. Store and pour food items like sugar, homemade salad dressing and coffee beans. Organize art supplies. They are also a great way to store homemade laundry detergent. Use your imagination – the possibilities are virtually endless.
My family received an assortment of jars along with accessories so we could mix and match to see what worked best for our needs. I found that the 12 ounce Ball jar was a great go-to size for both the kids and myself when we wanted a drink. I think I’ll use the larger 24 ounce drinking jars in the summertime when I feel the need to hydrate more often than I do in the winter.
Like I mentioned earlier, we love the Koverz and Kidzikoo neoprene cozies. Besides adding personality to the jars, they make the jars easier to grip, provide comfort for holding hot and cold drinks, and give protection from accidental drops. We really liked the EcoJarz stainless steel and bright green drink top options as well as the Cuppow silicone lids (pink, blue, white/clear and mint green). They works for adults and kids who have graduated from the sippy cup stage.
Another type of jar topper is the ReCAP. The ReCAP works for things you need to “shake, store and pour” like cream, sugar and salad dressings. This jar top lid is available in both regular and wide-mouth sizes to fit a variety of jars.
And that is not all – there are straw options that include Stainless Steel and Glass. My kids love using the straws with the EcoJarz lid (you can use the lid with or without a straw). There are straw options for kids and adults. The Glass Dharma Coffee straws even have a lifetime guarantee!
The Pint and a Half brings the best drinking jars and their accessories together in one place. It’s a convenient way to shop a wide selection of products and pay one low shipping fee per order.

Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says
What neat designs and patterns. I have a ton of cups with straws so this is right up my alley. I don’t think I’d store anything toxic in them though because I’d worry that kids would be confused and try to ingest it.
Jodi @ A Mom Having Fun says
These are so cute! We moved away from plastics quite sometime ago. All the kids have water bottles and drink out of glasses. I love the straw concept with these…so cool!
Brandy says
The RECap is a great idea. I have hundreds of jars and have started using them for my coffee but I like the idea of being able to store my coffee creamer or salad dressing in them. Thanks!

I have seen mugs made out of Mason Jars before but I don’t think I’ve ever drank out of one. I had no idea that was common in the south. I like the idea of personalizing it and having the grip and tops. I think my husband would like these as he prefers to drink out of glass.

I serve drinks out of jars at parties, but not on a regular basis – what a fun idea. I have to ask, what is that circle thing sticking out of the straw?
Nicole says
Great question! Thanks for asking. That green circle thing is a type of band that comes with the straw to help hold the straw in place. However, you don’t have to use it (the band slides off easily). Edited to add: There is a circle thing sticking out of the top of a straw (pictured in the blog post) that’s actually the tip of a straw cleaner. You would only use that to clean the straws, not while you are drinking from them. 🙂
April says
Ah! There are two rings, the other ring that is seen at the top of the straw is actually the end of the optional cleaning brush…. which is useful if you’re using the straw with something other than just water, especially dairy-based drinks. 🙂
Nicole says
Jen, I wanted to be sure you also saw the response from April (owner of The Pint and a Half) about the circle things. Here’s a copy and paste of her comment reply: There are two rings, the other ring that is seen at the top of the straw is actually the end of the optional cleaning brush…. which is useful if you’re using the straw with something other than just water, especially dairy-based drinks.
