Thank you to Dixie for sponsoring this Thanksgiving discussion. All opinions expressed are my own.
Thanksgiving season is here! It’s a time to enjoy the 4 F’s: Food, Family, Friendship and Football! It’s also time to stock up on all the Dixie plates, bowls, cups and napkins we will use throughout the festivities.
This Thanksgiving, Dixie invites everyone to make and share Thanksgiving Promises. Each promise is a reminder of what is truly important about the holiday. I made my Thanksgiving Promise to Dixie this year, and I plan to enjoy every moment sticking to it. Everyone who shares a Dixie Thanksgiving Promise on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest will receive an exclusive Dixie coupon.
Visit Dixie.com to share your Thanksgiving Promise and claim your coupon! You will also see a collection of favorite McCormick Holiday recipes, including roasted turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce.
As promised in the title of this blog post, I have an easy pumpkin pie recipe to share with you. This Signature Pumpkin Pie with Vanilla Whipped Cream takes just 5 minutes to prep and 55 minutes to bake.
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen unbaked deep dish pie crust (9-inch)
- 1 can (15 oz.) pumpkin
- 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp. McCormick® Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Vanilla Whipped Cream (recipe follows)
Directions:
PLACE
pie crust on large foil-lined baking sheet. Mix pumpkin, milk, eggs and pumpkin pie spice in large bowl until smooth. Pour into crust.
BAKE
in preheated 425°F oven 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
BAKE
40 minutes longer or until knife inserted 1 inch from crust comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack. Serve with Vanilla Whipped Cream.
Makes 8 servings.
Vanilla Whipped Cream: Beat 1 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar and 1 tsp. McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract in medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form.
Be sure to serve your pumpkin pie on Dixie plates – that way, clean up will be a breeze. Spend more time with your family and less time doing dishes this Thanksgiving when you use Dixie products.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? What will your Thanksgiving Promise be this year?
