How do you S-T-R-E-T-C-H your Back-To-School Budget? #givingbackpack #ebates

August 11, 2014 by Nicole

I was provided $25 by our sponsor Ebates to purchase a backpack and school supplies. I was not compensated in any other way for this post. Ebates Back To School #givingbackpack #ebates

I am really excited to be part of Madame Deals Back-To-School Backpack Event. Participating bloggers were challenged to shop online using Ebates.com and see how far we could stretch $25 to fill a backpack with school supplies for children in need.

I have had an Ebates account for a long time, but usually forget to sign in and use it before I shop online. That’s a big No-No, because there’s no way for Ebates to keep track of how much Cash Back I am earning through my purchases. So I have started reminding myself to go to Ebates.com and sign in to my account, then do my online shopping.

The $25 I had to work with went a long way at Walmart. I purchased 4 Mead Spiral Bound Notebooks, Crayola Markers, Pink Pearl Erasers (3 pack), Elmer’s Glue Sticks (4 Pack), Crayola Crayons, Expo Dry Erase Markers (4 Pack), Crayola Colored Pencils and a Backpack to hold it all. I was especially pleased to find a decent backpack for only $6.88!

I am also adding in a few extra supplies that my children’s teachers usually request for the classroom: a roll of paper towels, a box of facial tissue and a canister of cleaning wipes.

My local Walmart store has a very convenient drop-off box for anyone who wants to donate school supplies for local students in need. I’ll be taking my donation there.

The opportunity to shop for a good cause in the Back-To-School Backpack Event has reminded me how easy it is to shop through Ebates and earn cash back. I am going to be buying school supplies, clothes, shoes, etc., anyway, so I think it is awesome that I am getting rewarded with cash back!

A few places I shop regularly online are: Walmart, Kohls, Amazon, Toys R Us, and Old Navy. I can find them all and hundreds more stores on Ebates. Which ones of your favorite stores are on Ebates.com? How do you S-T-R-E-T-C-H your Back-To-School budget?

Right now, Ebates is having a special Double Cash Back to School promotion. It’s a great time to start shopping with Ebates if you don’t already. Sign up for your FREE Ebates member account when you click here: my Tell-A-Friend link.
