September is National Preparedness Month, which has me thinking about things my family can do to be better prepared in case of an emergency. One of the first and most important things we can all do is to have a 72 Hour Kit. A 72 Hour Kit is collection of basic supplies including food and water that can sustain someone for 3 days in an emergency.
Why You Need a 72 Hour Kit.
Every member of your household should have a 72 Hour Kit put together in advance of emergencies such as natural disasters. After an emergency, there may not be time to get these essential items together. 72 Hour Kits should be kept somewhere easily accessible in case you have to evacuate your home quickly – you may not have time to search for your 72 Hour Kit. Electricity, Water, Telephones, Gas and Sewage Treatment services may not be available for hours, days or even longer after disaster strikes. A 72 Hour Kit needs to contain items to help you deal with those circumstances.
Award-winning 72 Hour Kit by Nitro-Pak.
As I was researching 72 Hour Kits online, I came across the Nitro-Pak Preparedness Center website. It stood out to me because the site was organized and easy to navigate. Nitro-Pak recently launched their new website design just in time for Preparedness Month. I reached out to them about their Emergency Preparedness items, and I promise I am not making this next part up…they have a warehouse/office located in my very own town!
Nitro-Pak generously offered to give me one of their Executive 72 Hour 2 Person Kits for review, and one to give away to my readers. It’s pretty awesome because this particular 72 Hour Kit has been featured on CNN and TV News, plus was voted #1 by The Wall Street Journal.
The experts at Nitro-Pak have been putting together survival kits for more than 20 years. The Executive 72 Hour Kit was especially assembled to include quality items you can depend on in an emergency at an affordable price. Each Executive 72 Hour Kit contains enough supplies to take care of two people.
I was definitely impressed by this 72 Hour Kit. It contains all the survival basics including food, water, shelter (tent), First Aid kit, light, heat, sanitation, communication, and more. Everything is organized and contained into one heavy-duty backpack that is ready to go when needed. Even though there are quite a few supplies inside, the pack weighs less than 20 pounds and has a little bit of extra room for me to pack a set of extra shoes or clothing.
If I were to try and put together this kit myself, it would cost me around $185 to buy supplies separately. Nitro-Pak currently sells this kit for $115 (*Sale Price, subject to change). I think that is a great deal, plus I love the added convenience of not having to spend time putting it together myself.
A few more reasons to shop Nitro-Pak Preparedness Center:
- IRON-CLAD 100% Satisfaction Guarantee with 180 day no questions asked
