The recent devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy has me thinking about emergency preparedness. Would I be ready to take care of my family and neighbors in the event of an emergency? I know how fast grocery store shelves can empty when a big storm is coming. And if the power is out, it is much harder to go anywhere and buy anything even if food is still available at the store.
I have decided that keeping long term food storage that includes Ready Made Meals can give me peace of mind that I will be able to feed my family if stores shut down for a few days or longer. One of my favorite online sources for food storage and emergency preparedness product is Honeyville Food Products.
They have a delicious variety of Ready Made Meals that only need hot water to prepare them. They are lightweight and easy to store to use in times of emergency, hardship and even camping trips. Quality meals like Fettucine Alfredo, Rotini with Meat, and Broccoli Cheese Soup.
How long do the cans of emergency dried food last?
These meals have a long shelf life of 10-15 years!
Honeyville Farms has a flat rate shipping rate of $4.49 to anywhere in the continental USA! I also know from first hand experience that they provide top notch customer service. Feel free to give them a call or send them an email if you have any questions about their products, shipping rates, etc.
What’s an easy way for you to start your own long term food storage collection?
Save money when you purchase Honeyville’s Emergency Meal Combo ($156, pictured above). This is one of their bestselling products because it saves money versus buying items individually, plus it helps you start your emergency food storage with a little bit of everything. The combo pack contains everything you need to create four different types of meals.
Be prepared for the unexpected with convenient, ready made meals when you shop at Honeyville.

In light of the recent emergencies in the eastern states I think it’s pretty apparent that we all need some type of food storage. I recommend starting out simple. Put a 72 hour kit together for each member of your family. Then store your water consumption for a week. This can be done by simply filling 2 liter bottles of water. When these steps are complete store food. Store ready made meals, grains and food that you eat. If you make a plan and work on something each month is won’t be long and you will have your much needed food storage and survival gear.
