I took the Kindle plunge a few months ago and have never looked back. I love how lightweight and portable my Kindle Paperwhite
is because it makes it so easy to carry with me to read during those odd bursts of time such as when I’m waiting in the carpool line or at appointments. I love to download free samples of books I *think* I want to read so I can preview the first few pages before actually buying the whole book.
I don’t miss turning the pages of a “real” paper book nearly as much as I thought that I would. And being able to read in the dark (the Kindle Paperwhite is backlit) is awesome! I can read in bed without bothering my sleeping husband with the lights.
Anyways, now that it is possible to buy a Kindle for as low as $69, shipped free., I definitely think it is worth the investment if you love to read.
I’m currently reading A Discovery of Witchesby Deborah Harkness. It’s the first book in the All Souls Trilogy. Her novel Shadow of Night recently won the 2012 GoodReads Choice Award for Best Paranormal Fantasy. The story involves paranormal creatures as well as action, mystery, history and science. It’s a great mix that has kept me up late at night reading this week!
What about you? Let me know what you are reading these days in the comments section. I love hearing recommendations and even those “do not waste your time reading” kinds of non-recommendations.

I too am in love with my Kindle. I became house bound and could not make my weekly trips to the library. My sister gave me one of the first Kindle Fire’s a year ago I am alone a lot and my kindle and my computer are my only pass times. I love the Elizabeth Peters Amelia Peabody series. I have read them all in sequence. She also writes under the name of Barbra Michaels. They are paranormals but there is no sequence. I am enjoying them very much but The Amelia Peabody’s are her best work though.I am putting the URL to the series.
