If you love football facts, THE FOOTBALL FANBOOK by Gary Gramling from Sports Illustrated Kids is for you. My son enjoys reading sports books for kids, especially anything related to football. We received a review copy of The Football Fanbook and quickly realized this book is a great read for football fans of all ages (not just the kids!)
Inside is “Everything You Need to Become a Gridiron Know-It-All. Lingo, Trivia, Stats, Skills.” Football fanatics will devour the fun facts and Sports Illustrated quality color photography.
I am amazed by my son’s ability to memorize football facts. It’s like his brain is specially wired to remember players’ names, teams, and stats. “Know These Numbers.” Chapter One of The Football Fanbook, includes the stats and figures all true NFL fans should know by heart. This is the perfect way to start a book for football fans.
Besides all the facts and trivia about NFL teams and players, The Football Fanbook contains practical advice for fans. Stuff like how to how to draft a fantasy football team, how to throw the perfect spiral, and how to make the ultimate game day snack. I love how the book gives kids cool ideas they will want to try at home.
Did your favorite football player make the book? If he’s one of today’s best or yesterday’s greats, odds are your player is featured somewhere in The Football Fanbook. You will have to read it to find out!
The Football Fanbook is a must-have for young sports fans ages 8 and up. When it comes to football, my son likes to “talk the talk” with everyone from friends his age to adults. This book has definitely upped his knowledge of the sport.
Reading the book with him has upped my game, too! Thanks to The Football Fanbook, we both sound like we know what we are talking about when it comes to NFL football. It has taught us a lot of useful football facts and has sparked a lot of fun conversations between us.
“I wish I had this book when I was a kid,” says Peter King, Editor-in-chief of The MMQB (a website and podcase for NFL fans) and Sports Illustrated NFL expert. “You’ll be so much smarter when you read it.”
Youth Football Online calls The Football Fanbook from Sports Illustrated Kids “A mini football encyclopedia. It’s packed with updated stats and tidbits that you may not have known.”
Other chapters cover football facts for kids, obscure trivia, essential skills to master, thinking like a coach, comparisons of classic players with today’s stars, tidbits on all 32 NFL teams, and gridiron terminology. High quality Sports Illustrated photos and illustrations make everything easy to understand for young fans.
