Healthy Sunday Dinner Recipes (That My Family Will Actually Eat)

March 29, 2014 by Nicole

It’s not that my family eats a lot of bad-for-us food. It’s just that I think we should eat MORE of the good-for-us kinds of food. I’m searching for the best, easy healthy dinner recipes for my Healthy Summer Dinners collection at Foodie.com. To me, a healthy dinner means a meal that includes things like wholesome grains, fruits, vegetables and lean protein.

I was asked to create a Sunday Dinner ideas collection for Foodie.com. Although this is a sponsored opportunity, all opinions are entirely my own. And I had a great time looking for yummy food ideas to share with my family and yours!

During the week, a sit down dinner with the entire family can be hard to come by. But the weekends are a different story around here. We let the kids help us decide what we should cook, then we go grocery shopping together. Sometimes the entire family even helps me make dinner. Dinner on Sunday is the perfect chance for us to try new recipes together. We are a pretty casual crowd – so please don’t expect me to set out the fine china.

Take a look at my growing collection of healthy recipes, and let me know what you think. Everything on my list takes an hour or less to make. Note: I include slow cooker meals, even though the actual cook time on those is longer…slow cooker meals usually don’t involve much prep time and are some of the easiest dinners to make.

How do you help your family eat healthy dinners? What are some of your favorite healthy dinner ideas?

You have a lot of good choices here. The one I want to try first is the Turkey, apple and smoked gouda press.

I love salmon, but how do you get your kids to eat it? That’s awesome – so healthy too. I didn’t touch salmon until I was about 30 yo lol. The other three dishes everybody would eat in my family. Great choices! 🙂

My kids’ favorite way to eat salmon is when it has been covered in brown sugar and butter. I guess that negates the healthy benefits of salmon…but it tastes amazing that way! 🙂
