My husband recently started a conversation with me, and I could tell he was nervous about what he had to say. He started out with, “I know you love your beauty products…and you sure have a lot of nice ones…” I didn’t know where he was going with this and tried to help him along by agreeably nodding, and adding the “But…” for him.
The next part came out really fast for him, “…But, do you really need ALL of your beauty stuff out at the same time?” I took a look at my side of the bathroom counter and saw his point. Lipsticks, brushes, compacts, mascaras, and all my beloved beauty tools were getting a little out of control. It was definitely time for me to go through them, get organized, and clear the clutter.

Hold Me Bags Collection includes 3 sizes: Little Sister, Middle Sister and Big Sister. (Photo Credit: HoldMeCompany.com)
The Hold Me Company sent me their medium-sized eco-friendly cosmetics organizer, the Hold Me “Middle Sister” bag to try out and see what I thought about it. It’s the perfect size for a makeup bag that can comfortably hold my current daily makeup routine favorites. A Hold Me bag looks way more stylish than your average makeup bag – when it is closed, it looks just like a clutch. These are the only cosmetics bags that give you a place to both store your makeup and organize your makeup brushes.
I filled my Middle Sister bag with the cosmetics and beauty tools I use the most. I even have room to spare! I’m so glad I got my things organized into one place – now I don’t have to dig around in my makeup drawers looking for my favorite color eye shadow every morning. It’s right there in the expandable, zippered middle section of the bag.
The Middle Sister is an easy size to carry with me when I travel. Like I was saying, this Hold Me bag keeps everything I use on a day-to-day basis. So when it’s time to pack for a trip, all I have to do is toss in my hairbrush and a couple of travel-sized toiletries, fold up the Hold Me bag and I’m ready to go.
I love how easily the Hold Me Bag unfolds and lays out flat. The inside features a cute cotton print. In addition to the zippered middle section, there are eight brush holders that I use for my makeup brushes, lip pencils and eyeliners. I can even stuff the Middle Sister a bit fuller if I need to, thanks to the schoolgirl-type tie closure. It’s very forgiving if I need to pack a bulging makeup bag!
There are 2 other Hold Me Bag sizes, the Big Sister and Little Sister. I would definitely love to get the largest size to help me organize my ever-growing beauty product collection. And the Little Sister would fit my basic needs and slip right into my purse. But I’m super happy to get started with the in-between size, Middle Sister. It’s just right for my day-to-day needs. Middle Sister keeps my makeup and brushes organized so I can find what I’m looking for quickly. This is especially helpful when I am running late and need to get ready in a hurry. That’s pretty much every day for me!
Hold Me bags are handmade in the USA of vegan suede fabric. They come in many stylish patterns and color options. The suede fabric is easy to wipe clean and helps this bag last for a long time. It’s definitely worth the $85 investment, and is a wonderful gift idea for yourself or anyone who loves their makeup.

The brushes compartment is what caught my eye in this make up bag. I hate getting my brushes messed up just throwing them in a open bag this one is great.

I want to love this bag so much but I’m having a hold time with the brushes compartment. Am I the only one because I can’t find one negative review on these bags 🙁
I have the Middle Sister and if I put my sigma brushes in the back brush compartments I have an extremely difficult time putting smaller eye shadow brushes in the front brush compartments.
Any suggestions on how to make this work?
I just purchased the Orla Kiely weekender and medium hanging bag from Targer. The hanging bag is about the same size as the Middle Sister and holds more plus a spacious slot for my brushes. FYI…these bags are pretty amazing.
Let’s face it, we spend just as much on our brushes as we do on the actually makeup and I don’t want them damaged/smashed from forcing them in the Hold Me Bag.
I need help…

Hi Jenn, Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments and concerns about the Middle Sister bag. I don’t really have a solution on how to get all the brushes to fit in there. I totally agree with you that you don’t want to force them into somewhere if they aren’t going to fit in the provided slots. There are so many different sizes of brushes and handles styles that it may just take trial and error to find the *perfect* makeup bag design for you and the your favorite brand of makeup brushes.
I haven’t noticed any difficulty fitting my brushes in the slots of my Middle Sister Bag – but it’s probably because my brushes aren’t as big around as the Sigma brushes? I am just guessing, but that has to be the issue. If the bigger brushes take up all the space in the back slot and the front slot, I can see how you would not be able to squeeze a brush into the front slot.
You’re definitely doing the right thing by testing out different bags to find out which one works best for your needs. Good luck, I hope you can find the perfect fit for your things. -Nicole

I need to get one of these because my bronzer makeup got all over my brushes and now I have to get it off. If I had them in this Hold me bag this would have not happened. I like how organized I can get my makeup.
