Homemade Chocolate Syrup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1.5 cups White Sugar
- 1.5 cups Water
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- Dash of Salt
Directions:
- Combine Cocoa, Sugar, and Salt in small saucepan.
- Add Water and Stir until smooth.
- Continue Stirring and Bring mix to boil for 2-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat. (*Syrup will thicken a little bit as it cools, but it will not be as thick as a store bought syrup even when cooled.)
- Add Vanilla when cool.
Ecofriendly Tip:
Recycle by refilling an empty chocolate syrup bottle instead of throwing it away. If you don’t have one, reuse an empty jar or other container.

Wow this is great cause I don’t like the ingredients in hershey’s chocolate syrup. This way I know EXACTLY what’s my syrup is made of!

I hope he likes the recipe – it is easy to make and to me it tastes better! My kids have never noticed a difference in homemade or store bought. Plus, like you said, you know exactly what goes into it. Thanks for your comment!

Hi Anne! Yes, it blends into milk just as well as the store bought syrup. I haven’t tried it on ice cream yet, but I’m sure it would taste great there too. Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope you like the recipe.
