Shopping for the perfect smartphone case can actually become a bit overwhelming with all the choices out there. Plus, a phone case is more than just a protective cover – it’s a fashion statement. And for me, it’s usually at least a several month commitment.
My current case is my favorite color (bright pink) and it’s one of the silicone skin ones. It has done a great job protecting my phone against many drops and accidental flings across the room (most of which were done by my toddler). But, I’m sort of getting the itch to switch it out and go for a new look and feel.
Do I want another silicone skin or would I like a hard case or what about a flip case? Should I get a solid color or print? I feel like I’m shopping for a prom dress or something! There are tons of iphone case brands and styles. I need real advice about what works best in real life.
What’s your phone case like? Love it? Hate it? How often do you change your phone’s look?

My dad works in construction; he’s a project manager, but occasionally, when he goes on site, he worries about his phone falling out of the case (and the clip he wears on his belt loop). He loves his Otterbox (which he has for the Evo 4G). I think they’re making them for more products now. I personally have a white case myself, and I dress it up with stickers, and if I want to change it up a bit, I remove the stickers and put on new ones (I also have an Evo). The case has been pretty protective, haven’t lost the Evo yet, and I love it. I do take pretty good care of my phone though…when my mom took one of our old phones, she had a choice…she took mine because it was in the best condition of all the phones in our family. Luckily, I have no children or construction to worry about. And that is how I dress my smartphone.

Wow, Ashley! Thanks for sharing! That is a great idea about using stickers and then you can change them up for a new look. Very creative!

Nicole, stop by my blog, I’m putting the pics up of the case there in a moment.

Nicole, my favorite case was the lovely pink Otterbox that I had for the 3GS. They don’t seem to make the thicker, or should I say, “more protective” cases for the iPhone 4’s. I really wish that they did! And, BTW, when I buy an iPad, I will definitely get an Otterbox case for it!

I’ll definitely check out your blog for pics, I’d love to see the case in action.
And I am a believer in the OtterBox defender iPad case – I know you’ll love it especially if you are already a fan of their cases.

Nicole, hi! I have an iPhone 4, and I have a Black Defender series Otterox case for it—-there is a dark pink trim in areas on it!!! I’ve dropped the darn thing at least once since I got it last month, and it’s doing ok!

Hi Barb! Yeah, those Otterbox cases seem pretty indestructible. We have one on our iPad that has been dropped many a times (almost always an “accident” by one of the kids). Somehow the iPad has stayed in one piece. I’ll have to check them out for the phone cases.
That is cool to know their case has some PINK on it ! Thanks!
