How I Get Going in the Mornings #QuakerUp

March 6, 2014 by Nicole

I’m partnering with Quaker® this year, and they have sent me a variety of their products to try with my family. Recently, Quaker asked me to talk a little bit about my everyday challenges, I made a list. I realized the challenges on my list share common theme: time and energy. I need more of both!

The first challenge I face every single day is waking up and getting out of bed in the morning. I have accepted the fact that I am not a morning person, but that doesn’t mean I can sleep in. Ever. My family has places to go, people to see! And I’m in charge of getting us all there. But nobody wants to be around Mom when she moody in the mornings. Not even me!

I have found a few little tricks that help get me going in the mornings. First, I set my alarm for about 25 minutes ahead of the time I need to wake up. Then, when it goes off, I lie in bed for several minutes thinking about what I need to accomplish that day. Finally, I do a little bit of stretching. Yes, I may look silly, but no one else is around to watch.

Mentally mapping out my day helps me manage my daily priorities. It’s not possible to add hours to my day, but planning the way I use my time helps me avoid stressful situations. The stretching exercises help me feel energized and ready to start my day.

My busy day revolves around managing my home and family. Chasing after my four boys takes a lot of mental and physical energy! I like to keep sensible food and snacks around the house. The Quaker Real Medleys bars are a delicious way for moms like me to have the energy we want to take on our daily challenges.

Quaker Real Medleys Bars are made with a unique medley of fruit chunks and nut combinations in a delicious multigrain bar. You can actually SEE the pieces of fruits and nuts in every bar. They are easy to pack in my purse for when I need a snack on the go.

Everyday challenges are a part of life. But when I set priorities, exercise and eat right, I am ready to face whatever comes my way each day.

Quaker Real Medleys Bars come in three delicious flavors and made with real ingredients such as fruit and nuts. To learn more about Quaker Real Medleys Bars and other delicious Quaker products, visit quakeroats.com Official Sweepstakes Rules
