A few weeks ago, I posted about the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading programwhere your child can earn a free book between now and September 6. I just learned about another great way to earn a free book this summer:
Don’t forget to check your local library to see if they have a Summer Reading program starting up. We are headed out to sign up at our library today. It’s a free and fun way to encourage children to keep reading, even when school is out! Plus, when those inevitable rainy days come along, a trip to the library is just the thing to keep us from getting bored.

I take my kids to the library every Friday and they can’t read yet! Reading is so important. 🙂

Good point! My library lets the toddlers sign up for their reading program as long as they have someone reading books to them. My 3 year old doesn’t read by himself yet, but he likes to earn the prizes from the summer reading program. It’s a good way to make sure I’m spending time reading with him every day.
