Colorful Lunch Ideas For Kids

August 31, 2015 by Nicole

Making school lunches kids will actually eat can be tough. My kids get bored eating the same food day after day. I have learned that if I want them to eat their lunch, I have to send foods they like to eat. Every now and then, we sit down together and brainstorm all the different foods they would be okay with me sending in their lunch box.

I have learned that something as simple as cutting up fruit and putting the pieces on a toothpick can inspire my kids to eat more fruit than they would have otherwise. And sometimes my kids like to pick a theme for lunch. The Rainbow theme is easy. All you do is pick a colorful variety of kid-friendly foods.

Colorful Lunch Ideas For Kids

Some of our favorite colorful lunch ideas include a rainbow veggie wrap, berry and fruit kabobs and Pepperidge Farm® Goldfish Crackers Colors. It’s a great way for kids to get a nutritious variety of foods. The bright colors are appealing to kids and make lunchtime a lot more fun – and hopefully a lot more edible, too!

For the veggie wrap:

  • Whole wheat tortilla
  • Spreadable cheese
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Lettuce
  • Sweet Red Peppers (chopped)
  • Canned corn

Spread a thin layer of cheese on the tortilla. Add each group of veggies in a line across the tortilla. Roll it up into a wrap. Cut the wrap in half to make it easier for kids to pick it up and eat.

For the berry and fruit kabobs:

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Pineapple
  • Mandarin Oranges

Slice fruit and berries as needed. Slide pieces onto a wooden kabob stick or toothpick.

Add Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers Colors, and your colorful lunch is almost done!

There’s one more thing I like to add to every lunch, and that is Wet Ones® hand wipes. Wet Ones® Singles are an easy way for kids to clean their hands before and after they eat lunch. These wipes get rid of 99.9% of germs and are gentler on skin than hand sanitizer.

Do you send Wet Ones® wipes to school? What are your child’s favorite colorful foods?

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Wet Ones® + Pepperidge Farm® . The opinions and text are all mine.
