The Magisto App Makes Movie Magic For Me! #MagistoMoms

I use my smartphone to take pictures and brief videos all the time. Even though I share my phone’s photos with family and friends (and all of my blog readers!), I never really do anything with the videos on my phone. My videos are usually so short that they seem sort of pointless. Plus, it takes me forever to edit video clips into movies, so I usually decide it simply is not worth my time.

Enter Magisto!

My attitude towards my phone’s videos has done a 180, thanks to an app called Magisto.

Magisto is this amazing, awesome video creation app that you simply must add to your devices. It’s the highest-rated video creation app in Google Play and iOS app stores. This app takes your video clips, expertly selects the best moments, and puts them into a professional-looking video. I have no idea how it knows what to do, but it magically works to make an edited video in minutes! I love that all the little video clips I take of the kids can now be made into something I will want to watch and share with others. Speaking of sharing, another great feature of Magisto is that you can send your video creations to all your social media with the click of a button!

This app takes less than ten minutes to create a video that would probably take me hours to do on my own! I guess I should be embarrassed to admit my lack of video editing skills…but I’m too excited about this app!

Magisto is so easy to use that I have already made several videos, including one for the #MagistoMoms Mother’s Day contest.

  2. From the Create screen, select the photos and videos from your Camera Roll or Gallery that you’d like to be included in your Movie.
  3. Select the Mother’s Day theme for the contest
  4. Select the Joan Osborne song “Born To See You Through”
  5. Give your Movie a title – Be sure to include the hashtag #JoanOsborne in the title so your video will be entered in the contest.

You can submit a video from now until May 13, 2013. Videos will be shared and available for viewing on a Mother’s Day-themed social scrapbook at the Magisto website. The videos with the most Likes on Magisto will win!

My #MagistoMoms video is created from several clips from last weekend’s road trip to Moab. I love taking road trips with my family and the alien landscape surrounding Arches National Park always makes for great photo opps and fun hikes and bike rides. The first annual Mother’s Day benefit concert hosted by Joan Osborne with special guests Ollabelle and Elizabeth Mitchell at NYC’s City Winery took place on May 12th. This concert helps benefit these two charities: Somaly Mam Foundation and Save the Children. The Magisto team attended the concert to create and share videos of the special evening.     This really does sound like a great app. And when I come into this century and have the tech devices to actually download apps I may try it. But in the meantime, I know that this would be something that my sister would love to try so I will pass the info to her!
