I taught my child the importance of oral health care with LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE, as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #besweetsmart
It is a mission of mine to make sure my kids take care of their teeth. I feel such a huge relief every time my kids pass their six month dental check-ups with no cavities. We work on learning good oral health care habits every single day. My 7-year-old is pretty good about brushing his teeth all by himself – some days I don’t even have to remind him to brush! But, there are places in his mouth that even his toothbrush cannot reach to clean. That’s why I am teaching him how to use dental floss and mouthwash.
Did You Know That:
Kids should rinse with mouthwash morning and night. Brushing teeth and using mouthwash at bedtime are very important steps to help prevent cavities in children.
There’s a mouthwash for kids! LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE is an alcohol-free mouthwash recommended for children ages 6 and up. It comes in three kid-friendly flavors: MINT, BUBBLEGUM AND BERRY SHIELD. Products feature favorite characters including Avengers, Barbie and Phineas and Ferb!
LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE gives 12-hour cavity protection, even while kids are asleep!
LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE keeps kids’ teeth 99% healthier than brushing alone. That’s a lab-tested fact.

A Fun Way For Kids to Use LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE
There’s a super fun game we like to play with LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE at my house. It’s called: How well did you brush your teeth? Are your tooth brushing skills up for a challenge?
Here’s How to Play:
Have your child brush their teeth, then rinse with LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE. The LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE tints any food particles your child’s toothbrush may have missed — so they will show up in the sink when they spit. It sounds kinda gross, but hey, it’s a fun way to improve a child’s tooth brushing skills. The tinted particles that show up in the sink shows kids how well they are brushing. If a lot of particles show up in the sink, your child may need your help to improve their tooth brushing technique. The fewer tinted particles that show up in the sink after your child brushes, the better.
Your child wins the game when there are NO TINTED PARTICLES found in the sink after they brush and rinse. They are a tooth brushing Superstar!
In addition to brushing and rinsing with a mouthwash, it is important to floss daily. Flossing gets rid of the plaque that your toothbrush can’t reach in between your teeth. One way I encourage my kids to floss is with flavored dental floss. My kids really like using mint-flavored dental floss and are more likely to floss with it versus the non-flavored kind.
For a healthier mouth, add LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE to your child’s morning and bedtime brushing routine. Learn more about how your child can BE SWEET SMART for a Healthy Halloween with LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE.
Does your child currently use a mouthwash? What do you think about LISTERINE® SMARTRINSE? How do you prevent kids cavities? Let me know if you have a tooth brushing Superstar at your house!

Listerine did something right when they chose to put The Avengers on the bottle because kids are just loving this product! Which is a good thing because this is truly a great mouthwash to use. Good job in making sure that your kid is getting the proper dental attention!

Wow kids have it made today. I have not heard of this before now. This is neat a kids rinse and flavors to try to floss!! This would be a nice incentive too. Thanks for sharing.

That is so true, Rita! I’m glad that there are more options for kids these days. And when my kids see things like a bottle with Avengers characters, they want to use the Avengers mouthwash. It makes getting them to brush/floss/rinse so much easier for me when it’s fun for them.

I think the Barbie flavor would be good, too. One of my kids especially likes Bubblegum flavored anything. -Nicole
