You could be eating cake in 5 minutes. Really, you could! Five minutes or less is all it takes to make a delicious mug cake in the microwave. You don’t need store-bought cake mix – all it takes are a few simple ingredients put together in a mug. Give them a quick mix with a fork and zap it in the microwave for the fastest cake treat ever.

MUG CAKES: 100 Speedy Treats to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth by Leslie Bilderback contains 100 cake recipes with a wide range of flavors. You are sure to find plenty of different mug cakes to please your taste buds.

Inside MUG CAKES, you’ll find recipes for Classics like Yellow Cake and even Red Velvet. Fancy-Shmancy taste buds will want to try Lemon-Thyme and Chocolate-Pasilla Chile. At my house, we love the Kids’ Stuff section that shares a yummy S’mores Mug Cake recipe. Other mug cake selections include: Adults Only, Choc-o-rama, A Little Fruity, Nuts To You, Celebrate! (holiday mug cakes), For the Sensitive Ones, and Not Exactly Cakes (mug cheesecake, mug blondies and other non-cake goodness you can make in a mug).

There are even recipes for cake lovers with special dietary needs, including gluten-free, sugar free, dairy free, and vegan.

One fall favorite mug cake recipe we tried is the Caramel Apple Mug Cake.

I like the idea of mug cakes because it is a portion controlled recipe and i can enjoy it without being afraid of overeating.

I have kind of a love-hate relationship with mug cakes. I’ve made a few that I really enjoyed, but I hate how much work it takes just for one serving! This recipe sounds delicious, but if I’m going to get out and measure 10 different ingredients–including taking the time to grate an apple–I want more than one serving!

Cake is my favorite recipe, and I like the Mug cakes recipe to Caramel Apple Mug Cake. It looks easy to make, and I make it in a big mug! How wonderful to make easy desserts like these. I am going to try it!

I pushed on the Hallmark Holiday Prize Pack giveaway and it went to a foam mattress giveaway. Is that supposed to happen?
    Thank you 🙂

The Hallmark Holiday Prize Pack giveaway is on the same blog post as the Foam Mattress Giveaway (sorry – it is so confusing to have 2 giveaways on the same blog post). Just scroll down past that mattress giveaway and you’ll see the Hallmark one. If you don’t see it, let me know because it really should be there. I’m double checking now! Thanks, Sue!
