6 Questions To Ask Yourself Before Getting a Puppy For Christmas

December 10, 2013 by Nicole

My sweet little niece recently asked Santa for the thing she wanted most: a puppy for Christmas. Yes, puppies are cute and yes, a puppy can be the best present ever *BUT* only if you are 100% ready to take on the added responsibility.

How do you know if you are ready to add a puppy or dog to your family? I found an infographic at The Uncommon Dog with 6 simple questions to ask yourself before buying a doggie for Christmas. If you are considering adding a furry friend to your household this holiday season, please take a minute to find out if you are truly ready!

Are you a doggie-for-Christmas kind of Mom (or Dad)? Can you think of any other questions to add to the ones below? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

It is a sad statistics that when people give dogs as presents for Christmas they end up giving the dog back, or taking it to the dog pound. It is very important to know all these tips before getting a puppy for Christmas. It is expensive to own just one dog, and who is going to help take care of the dog. All these questions need to be asked before getting a dog.

I love this because honestly I have seen people buy puppies for Christmas then later on a month down the road and get rid of it. Makes me sad when people do that. All pet stores should post this near the pets at Christmas time.

Great graphic. I will not be buying any pets for Christmas.
