I will go first since I asked the question. My family is not a shining example of how to be green, but I want us to become one in 2011!
Currently, we (or should I say I?) cloth diaper my babies, we use energy efficient light bulbs and applicances, use reuseable shopping bags – when I actually remember to bring them into the store with me — and … Gosh, is that all we do?
We can do better in 2011. This year, I plan to identify ways big and small that contribute to my own personal Going Green plan of action.
Big way to Go Green: Recycling! Just because my community makes it nearly impossible to recycle doesn’t mean I shouldn’t make the effort. I need some motivation and helpful hints on how to make recycling less complicated.
Little Way to Go Green: Switch to products manufactured by companies who use green, sustainable practices to make their products. Change household cleaners to cleaners that use natural ingredients. Use more reusable bottles and containers in my child’s school lunches.
Those are some of my 2011 Going Green ideas. What are some of your ideas on how to be greener with a family?
