I have spent a lot of time shopping around for compost bins online and in stores. They can be pricey, and I have a hard time paying a lot of money for something that has the sole purpose of holding old scraps of food to turn them into fertilizer.
Recently, I decided to do some research on how to make a compost bin. A surprising number of great ideas and even video tutorials popped up on my first Google search! There are definitely ways to make your own compost bin from materials like steel drums, garbage cans, or if you are super handy, you can even build one from wood scraps and aluminum siding.
I think making a compost bin is probably more economical than buying one.

I was going to go out and buy one,But we where at are inlaws.They had some big plaisic trash bin,They where getting rid of.I had my husban drill a few wholes in it so it can breath.So far it is working really good.I know what you mean about spending money on somethin your putting trash in. But im hoping that the compost will help out are garden so im giving a try:)
