Recycling Solutions: Rubbermaid 2-in-1 Recycler

April 11, 2012 by Nicole

Recycling just got a whole lot easier at my house!  The new Rubbermaid 2 in 1 Recycler allows you keep your trash separate from your recyclables all in one handy location.  No more running outside to a separate bin just to toss out a single piece of plastic. I can now put my plastics and other recyclable materials in the separate bins of my 2 in 1 Recycler.

I recycle more often now that I can keep our recycling in a convenient location inside my home. Another bonus is that I never have to re-sort my garbage to retrieve recyclables, everything is in its place from the get-go.

The 2 in 1 Recycler has a bottom tilt out bin that holds a standard 8 gallon trash bag in place with the LinerLock bag management. You can use the bottom bin for household garbage and use the top bin for everything you want to recycle, or use both bins to sort different types of recyclable materials.

Both bins have convenient carrying handles for anytime you need to transport your items (like when you take them to your recycling center to drop them off).

The 2 in 1 recycler takes up 25% less space in your kitchen than other divided containers and has a total bin capacity of 13.2 gallons.

It’s a great way to keep recyclables contained and organized in a nice-looking container that fits in with just about any decor. Something else that is totally eco-cool about the Rubbermaid 2 in 1 Recycler: it’s made from recycled materials and is recyclable!

WHERE TO BUY:

The Rubbermaid 2 in 1 Recycler (suggested retail price $39.99) can be purchased online at Rubbermaid and in Meijer stores.

Connect with Rubbermaid on Facebook and Twitter.

Where do you currently store your recyclable materials?  Would a Rubbermaid 2 in 1 Recycler help your household’s recycling efforts? Let me know in the comments!

I haven’t seen one of these in the stores I frequent here in Phoenix. Does anyone know where I can find something like this, or exactly this model in PHO?

    Any reply is appreciated.

I’m not sure which stores carry it in Phoenix. The Rubbermaid website sells it online, and suggests checking a local Meijer store if you have one. Hope that helps. Good luck finding what you are looking for. –Nicole

Our recycling just piles up in the kitchen every week until garbage day. One of these would make carrying it all down a lot easier and the kitchen prettier for sure 🙂

We are only recycling cardboard at this time simply because we have no place to sort out plastics. This would allow us to actually sort plastics for recycling and have a regular trash can!

I would really love to have this! I think it would actually fit on my cabinet door too because they don’t have any ‘pretty’ molding (sp?)

This would be so perfect for us; right now all of our recycling just getting piled up in the corner until we get around to taking it out (extremely unsightly). Great review!

This would be a huge help; my recyclables always end up mixed together, so we spend a lot of time sorting them before recycling day.

I like that it can be used for garbage and recycling but I would just use it for recylcing (plastic/cans and paper). It really is brilliant!

We have a city recycling program that picks up all recyclables from my sidewalk on a weekly basis… Its awesome! What is not so great is that I don’t have a very good system of storing all those items for the week, or moving them to the sidewalk. This would be perfect! What a wonderful idea!
